Science and Math Investigative learning activity
We can create better preschool activities and math to stimulate the kids with curiosity by teaching some basic concepts. Scientific concepts that are practical have the impact of increasing learners’ curiosity (Emen & Aslan, 2018). The better way of doing it is introducing a concept already known by the kids and engaging them in a practical part of it. In my case, I will take the kids through the concept of floating and sinking using floaters and sinkers.
Materials
Bowl of water, stones, keys, plastic toy, plastic cards, rice grains, sunflower seeds, a metallic toy boat, and aluminum foil
Procedure
The kids will be putting each of the provided materials in the water to determine those sinks and those floats. Then the kids should be asked whether the shape has any commotion to floating ad sinking. They should also find out how the material affects the buoyancy of objects.
The kids should be instructed to build their boast using the aluminum foil provided, the teacher should not guide them on how to build the boats but every kid should come up with a boat model (Ślusarczyk, Grabowski & Pietrzak, 2017). The designed models of boats should then be placed in a pool of water. The kids will observe the floating and sinking behavior of their boats. The teacher will let the kids differentiate the sinking boats from the floating ones. Observation should be made to identify the reason why some boats sunk while others floated in terms of shape.
The teacher should ask the kids the type of shape they would prefer if they were to design for fishing in the future. Where the kids prefer the shape of the boats which float in the experiment then it will be an indication that they have understood the floating and sinking concept
You become their teacher when your children are at home and school is not the only place for learning events. But there is no justification for it to sound like a lesson at school. Try these activities you should do at home that is interesting and successful by disguising the learning sessions as an exciting period, such as making the kids excited about trying something different.
Learn Phonics Basics
Teach your child one of the most precious presents you’ll ever send them to read. Repeating the sound of letters to understand the fundamentals of phonics to train children for spelling and preparation to read while constantly sitting in a chair is not what you have to do. Try exercises that make researching phonics an experience instead of a boring lecture. Kids should play games, search for letters, make alphabet books, and even use a digital camera in order to bring their phonics lessons to life. Investigative learning activity
Practice Writing
Your children can use the opportunity to write in their lives. With methods that go beyond paper and pencil, they can be taught to type. Get spiteful. Link the dots. Let’s get them traced. Use Play-Doh in the shaving cream to draw or shape letters. They will prepare and get amused while classes. Help them learn the alphabet and the movements of each letter in case you have preschoolers, through assisting you in your everyday activities of writing, they should be motivated to develop their penmanship for school-age students.
Identify Colors
Discovering colors at an early age seems to be interesting to kids. You can place them on a journey with a pack of fun pom-poms to recognize colors and counting knowledge and begin sorting to facilitate gross motor. On the other hand, Investigative learning activity making them pick up the tiny objects helps them to improve their motor skills prowess. This advances their thinking and science comprehension.
Develop Counting Skills
Studies suggest that, as an additional benefit, hands-on tasks trigger children’s minds and make them perform more. Recitation numbers in the proper order is just the onset, while count teaching to your child and playing of games which encourages them to touch visually count objects seems too simple. More counting ability mature children should attempt a game variant that can challenge them to think about counting to three and in terms of how many things they really see before them.
Math teaching
Math is an easy topic to teach because it’s all about us, ask them to do the addition of the number of clients waiting in a restaurant and the number of soccer players division on the field by the number of water bottles on the bench to see how many persons may not have anything to drink. For preschoolers, your budding math whiz can get an early start on number recognition and learn to count. Solve fractions and other advanced math problems for school-age children with math games, an abacus, and even cookies.
