How did FEMA help people prepare for the disaster?

Hurricane Irma is one of the resent calamities that have hit the United States. The disaster was experience in the year 2017, in Florida and nearby coastal counties. Before the disaster struck, there was a prior warning from the FEMA chief. According to CNBC news the people living in Florida were warned to evacuate and even electricity was not supplied in expectation to the devastating effects of the hurricane.

What services did FEMA provide to the community?

The services which were provided by FEMA during this disaster included the mobile homes which help as evacuation centers, they also provided grants to home owners that they may reconstruct their damaged houses. For people who are unable to use their homes during the disaster they provided house rents. Apart from housing this agency provides transportation of individuals, medical cover to the injured victims. Lastly, they also incur moving and storage costs of the affected properties as well as dental and funeral expenses.

How much monetary damage was caused by the disaster? Or, how much did FEMA spend in relief?

            The damage that was caused by Hurricane Irma was amounting to $64,760,000,000. The disaster capture Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Puerto Rico. The intervention of FEMA was not only before or during the disaster but also after the damages were caused. The agency gave an award of $5.46Million for the recovery of Florida. This amount was given for the response and to help in clearing the debris.
